Classes begin Wednesday March 24th 2010 for 9 weeks
Fee: $175 for ICC Member* $190 non-members
Ages: Adults (16 and up)
No prior musical experience necessary! Beginners encouraged!
Students will be taught using an easy to learn, simple alphabet system.
Requirements are a tin whistle in the key of D and a recording device.
D whistles can be purchased at the first class for $10.
There are four class levels:
5 - 6 PM Adult Beginner II
For whistle players with some basic knowledge who are able to play a few tunes at a slow tempo
6 - 7 PM Adult Beginner I
Ideal for adults who are absolute beginners. Learn some simple tunes, basic techniques, and get a good introduction to traditional Irish music.
7 - 8 PM Advanced Beginner
For whistle players with some experience. Class will cover ornamentation, breathing, and style.
8 - 9 PM Intermediate/Advanced
For whistle players who can play tunes in a variety of Rhythms at a reasonable tempo. A chance for players to be challenged by new tunes and techniques.
