Eamon deValera's life spanned much of the 20th Century from his birth in
NYC in 1892 to his death in 1975.
He was a leader in the Easter Rebellion, President of Sinn Fein, a member of the IRA,
a leader in the Civil War, head of the Free State government and President of the Republic.
In this lecture, we will discuss his making of the Irish state, his opposition to the Treaty, his neutrality in WWII,
and his relationship to the 6 Counties.
For better or for worse, he was 20th Century Ireland.
