Session 1 – “Advanced Find My Past Strategies”
Richard Reid will introduce be covering several strategies to make better use of the data that can be found with a Find My Past subscription. There are several new features offered on this site as well as many that are free to access. The Find My Past repository is growing weekly by adding millions of new records for Ireland and Great Britain. Databases that you have checked before should be checked again as records are being added to databases that have been long known to the researcher.
Session 2 - “What’s New at FamilySearch?”
FamilySearch is another database service that is well known to the genealogical researcher. It is one of Richard Reid’s favorite places to start as it is free to all. FamilySearch is a database that is continually growing and one needs to go back and check to see what has been added. In this seminar we will try to concentrate on records that have been added in the last three years. The session will also take a fresh look at the FamilySearch search engine.
